Wall–E
Walt Disney animation offers families something new this summer with this feature length cartoon about the adventures of a trash-compacting robot that is looking for the meaning of life. The same Pixar crew that came up with The Incredibles—and all those other Oscar-winning Disney films that followed—is also behind this soon-to-be-classic film. Featuring the voices of Ben Burtt, Jeff Garlin (of HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm) and comedy star Fred Willard. Coming June 27th from Walt Disney Pictures.
Hellboy II: The Golden Army
Speaking of Guillermo del Toro, the director returns to his first American success vehicle, with a sequel about the comic book demon hero. The original, as we all know, has become a sensation/phenomenon since its DVD release. Ron Perlman returns in the title role, this time with the small task of having to save our home planet Earth after an enemy planet decides it’s time to take things over. Coming July 11th from Universal Pictures.
The Love Guru
Austin Powers star Mike Myers continues his tradition of playing hilarious character roles in this new comedy. Myers is the film’s title character, Pitka, an American who was raised in India by gurus but returns to the U.S. to become a self-help professional. Hockey team owner Jessica Alba hires him to help her star player (Romany Malco), whose career falls apart after his beautiful wife leaves him for a rival athlete (Justin Timberlake). Jessica Simpson also co-stars. Coming June 20th from Paramount Pictures. |
