Over Her Dead Body Premiere

Would Eva Longoria Parker miss the premiere of her new movie? Over Her Dead Body! Dressed in a flirty J. Mendel frock, Christian Louboutin shoes, with a Nancy Gonzales bag and Verdura jewelry, Parker worked the red carpet alongside Over Her Dead Body co-stars Lake Bell, Jason Biggs and Lindsay Sloane and Desperate Housewives cohorts Felicity Huffman, Nicollette Sheridan (with Michael Bolton), Brenda Strong, and Andrea Bowen.

“It's a light, and fun movie, a nice change from all the heavy dramas, and all the blood and gore,” compares Parker, who plays a bride who dies on her wedding day and as a jealous ghost, proceeds to haunt her ex—and his new girlfriend. “I told Tony I would be the same way,” she admits, telling him, “You’re not moving on until I move on. We're in this together, this life, the afterlife, and the next life!"

While hubby Tony Parker was busy playing basketball with the Spurs in Seattle, several of her male friends showed up including Mario Lopez (with his buddy Jimmy, not Karina Smirnoff) and Chuck star Zachary Levi, who noted, “Eva said, ‘You’d better be coming to my premiere!’”

Over Her Dead Body opens Feb. 1—see our video interview with Parker for more!

Also opening Feb. 1 is The Eye, a thriller starring pre-pregnancy Jessica Alba, and on TV, Reba’s JoAnna Garcia plays an acupuncturist living in a sitcom about apartment building neighbors called Welcome to the Captain, premiering Feb. 4 at 9:30 on CBS.  Mexico-born Oscar ‘Ozzy’ Lusth is among the returning contestants in Survivor: Micronesia—Fans vs. Favorites, which pits newcomers against contestants from past seasons. The season premiere is Feb. 7 at 8 PM on CBS.

Last seen as a blonde college girl on Veronica Mars, Julie Gonzalo has a new look to go with her role as lawyer Maggie Dekker on ABC’s new series Eli Stone, premiering Jan. 31 at 10 PM. “Right after Veronica Mars ended I cut my hair because I was kind of over it,” explains Gonzalo, who was asked to darken its color—now closer to her natural one—to differentiate her character from Natasha Henstridge’s.

“It fits me and it fits the character,” says Gonzalo of her favorite role to date. “It’s definitely a smarter role for me. It’s not a teen drama. I’m the youngest one, the baby of the show—they treat me like a little sister, which I love. And Maggie is just adorable. She’s so eager, and there’s something about her that you can’t help but like.”  She also gets to sing in three of the weekly production numbers featured in the series.

Gonzalo, who makes her debut in the second episode Feb. 7—all of the ordered 13 were shot before the Writers Guild strike—is familiar with the legal world. Her aunt and uncle are lawyers, and she worked at a Miami law firm while in high school. “I wouldn’t want to do it for real, but playing one is the best,” she says.

You can also catch the native Argentinean speaking Spanish on screen for the first time in the heist drama Ladrón Que Roba a Ladrón, out on video this week.
