The cast of Ugly Betty celebrated the release of the DVD, Ugly Betty: The Complete First Season—The Bettyfied Edition, at the Mondrian Hotel’s Skybar in West Hollywood, where they reminisced about episodes past and gave up some scoop on season two. Both America Ferrera and Becki Newton picked “Fey’s Sleigh Ride” as their season one favorite because of the fun they had shooting it. “Many of the scenes were shot at three in the morning. It was take 13 and we had the giggles,” remembered Ferrera, looking chic in a Nanette Lepore skirt and Etro top.

Tony Plana picked episode six, where he revealed his past secrets to his daughters and Mark Indelicato, while Ana Ortiz chose the Fashion Week show. “It was a chance for Hilda to get out of Queens, go to Mode and cause havoc there, be in a different situation,” said Ortiz, who wore a sparkly lavender Bill Blass dress chosen earlier that day at an Emmy gown fitting. “She was the belle of the ball wherever she went and stole attention away from Betty, which gave a lot of insight into our characters.”

She and Plana recorded DVD commentary together, while Eric Mabius and Salma Hayek were paired. The set’s “awesomely embarrassing” gag reel “is reason enough to buy the DVD,” noted Mabius. This season, he added, roguish Daniel “continues to screw up and to slowly grow up. He’s really forced to step up to the plate in a way that he hasn’t ever before.”...

As for some other celebs, Scrubs’ Judy Reyes and her Dominican kin will celebrate Christmas Eve and open gifts on Three Kings Day. My Name is Earl’s Nadine Velazquez plans to travel for Christmas, possibly to Italy, while Eddie Matos will fly to Miami to celebrate with family. On his wish list: “a full season order for Cane” and a new ride, an Escalade. Law & Order’s Alana de la Garza wants something smaller. “Jewelry is always nice,” she smiles. As for Prison Break’s Amaury Nolasco, it’s a double celebration: “December 24 is my birthday.”
