Changing your family’s unhealthy habits doesn’t have to be difficult or unpleasant. In fact, it can be fun! Small, gradual changes work best. The tips below are simple ways to inspire your family to become more active and eat better. Pick your favorites and build from there.

1. Help your kids to find activities that they really enjoy.

2. Make activities fun, not competitive.

3. Replace unhealthy snacks with nutritious ones.

4. Walk whenever possible.

5. Eat meals as a family often.

6. Make your own exercise videos.

7. Turn grocery shopping into a game.

8. Tailor activities to the season.

9. Make sure everyone eats breakfast (yes, you too!).

10. Relax away from the TV.
