From the very first time Selena started to make a name for herself at a young age, little girls everywhere wanted to emulate her. In time, these same fans watched her mature into a stunning young woman, with her trademark sequined bustiers, sexy jumpsuits and glamorous gowns. According to the Selena Fan Club administration, five years later her fan mail has not ceased. “With the film having been released worldwide,” says her father Abraham, “we’re receiving hundreds of letters and calls from countries I’ve never even heard of.”
One fan from Houston summed it up best. “Selena is our Richie Valens. She’s our John Lennon. She’s our Elvis. We’ll always miss Selena. There will never be another queen of Tejano music.”
